The vaccination roll out is ongoing with the remaining patients from cohort 7 due their second doses in the coming weeks. We continue to only utilise the Pfizers Cominarty Covid 19 vaccine during these clinics. Patients eligible for clinics will be informed and booked in. We do have a reserve list in case there are doses left over. We will contact patients when it is there turn to be vaccinated.

COVID-19 CORONA VIRUS UPDATE 20/06/2021

The Delta variant is still a concern in Ireland. While it is great to see the opening up of society around us in Limerick, it is vital that people still stick to the public health guidelines and minimise transmission. There is still Covid-19 transmission in the community and we encourage people to maintain the key components in helping to reduce the spread of Covid-19

NB - Key factors in reducing spread remain the maintenance of social distancing, hand washing and the wearing of facemasks/coverings.

We encourage all patients to remain vigilant in relation to symptoms of this disease. Our service remains available every day Monday - Friday and our out of hours service Limerick Doc continue to provide an emergency out of hours service. We encourage patients not to ignore symptoms and to contact the surgery for advice in the setting of any significant medical issues. COVID-19 is not going away and it is important to maintain vigilance. COVID-19 consultations are done mainly by telephone and are free of charge. Similarly there is no charge for COVID-19 tests if they are required.

For those patients with cough, fever, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste they should NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY but they should self-isolate and contact us for a COVID test to be arranged. Please the following link for advice on self-isolation

Covid testing is available for all patients, medical card and private, who fulfil the referral criteria. Covid triage is available by phone and there is no charge for this service. Currently testing is being done within 24 hours of referral and results are coming back within 24-48 hours post test being done.
